Working together for a successful future
Getting Involved at Queensgate
At Queensgate, we know that children do their best when school and home work closely together. That’s why we really value the support of our families—and there are lots of ways you can get involved!
Become a Parent Governor
From time to time, we have a space for a parent to join our Governing Board. Governors help shape the future of our school by:
- Setting the school’s direction
- Supporting and challenging school leaders
- Acting as a ‘critical friend’—offering advice and encouragement
It’s a great way to make a difference and be part of our school’s leadership.
Join the PTFA
Love organising events or helping out at school fairs? Our Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) brings people together, runs fun activities for the children, and raises extra funds for the school. Everyone’s welcome!
Volunteer in School
Have a bit of spare time or a special skill to share? We’re always happy to welcome volunteers into school to support learning. Some of our helpers have even gone on to train as teaching assistants or teachers! If you're interested, just have a chat with Mr Chubb.
Support at Home
And of course, the most important thing you can do is support your child every day—chat with them, play together, and enjoy reading at home. Little things make a big difference.

Free School Meals
There are two types of 'Free' School Meals -
- is for those that have applied and met a certain criteria for hardship funds
- universal (infant) free school meals - this is for all Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children regardless of their parents circumstances.
During this crisis, lunches are only provided for those children that fall into category 1. If you think that you may now qualify for category 1, please click on the button below for all relevant information.

Our Approach to Anti-Bullying at Queensgate
At Queensgate Foundation Primary School, we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for every child. Bullying of any kind is not tolerated, and we take a proactive approach to prevention through education, early support, and strong relationships.
We are proud to have dedicated Anti-Bullying Ambassadors—trained pupils who help promote kindness, raise awareness, and support their peers. They play a key role in making sure everyone feels listened to and included.
Through lessons, assemblies, and everyday school life, we teach our children the importance of empathy, standing up for others, and knowing how to get help. If bullying does occur, we respond swiftly and seriously, supporting everyone involved and working to ensure it does not happen again.
At Queensgate, every child has the right to feel happy, safe, and valued.

The Value of After-School Clubs at Queensgate
At Queensgate, we believe after-school clubs play an important role in a child’s development. These activities give students the chance to explore their interests while building key social skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
Clubs also help children form new friendships, grow in confidence, and feel a strong sense of belonging within our school community. Whether it's sports, arts, music, or something new—there’s something for everyone to enjoy and benefit from beyond the classroom.
